Raiffeisen Centrobank awarded "Best M&A deal in CEE"

Largest M&A transaction in the Bulgarian energy sector

London/Vienna - Yesterday, Raiffeisen Centrobank won the EMEA Achievement Award in the category "Best M&A Deal 2011"in London. The Austrian investment bank with its strong focus on the CEE region was rewarded for its advisory services in the take-over of a 73% share in the Bulgarian lignite-fired power plant Enel Maritza East III by Controur Global.

With a purchase price of EUR 545 mn, the deal was one of the major M&A transactions ever finalised in the Bulgarian energy sector. In cooperation with Lazard, and with its Raiffeisen Investment network, Raiffeisen Centrobank advised the New York based investment fund Contour Global, an energy industry specialist. EMEA Finance Achievement Awards

The annual EMEA Finance Achievement Awards took place for the fifth time. The Awards honour outstanding services of banks, M&A advisors and financial service companies. This year the Awards were celebrated at a Charity Dinner in the London The Grand Connaught Rooms.
